I signed a contract. I’d been in discussions about that contract for a while – a couple weeks, maybe – but now it’s official.

last year, I started a project that took a wild turn away from what I usually write, then I was awarded a residency in fiction, which was strange. then I submitted a proposal for a poetry collection, which was … less strange, but when did I become a person who submits proposals?
I submitted a version of this proposal several years ago, as part of a fellowship application, so this one, the version that got the contract, had been simmering, but still.
writing has been going well. it’s been going well for several months, actually, but it’s continued at a reasonable pace, thank god.
